Guti: One More Season With Real Madrid, Then England

Real Madrid maybe preparing to off-load several players, but the vice-captain will not be one of them...

Guti has been told that he is part of Real Madrid's plans for the new season, but he will quit the club next summer to move to England, with  Arsenal his preferred destination, according to a report.

The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer as the squad has to be trimmed and the competition for midfield places has increased.

Coach Manuel Pellegrini has told Guti, however, that he is part of his plans and he wants him to remain at the club, Marca have revealed.

Director general Jorge Valdano has also reassured the veteran playmaker that he is wanted and will not be allowed to leave Madrid for at least another season.

A number of English clubs were said to be interested along with Frank Rijkaard at Galatasaray and clubs in Qatar and Vietnam, but all are set to be disappointed.

Guti could leave Madrid next year to fulfil his dream of trying English football and Marca believe that if he could choose then he would like to join Arsenal.
