The iTunes App Store is 500,000 apps rich and that means some are good, some are bad and some are fake duplicates of existing apps that Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) can’t crack down on because it hasn’t done that, until now.
Right now it’s pretty easy to go to the iTunes App Store or even the Mac App Store and find one amazing app that is at the top and then find several similar ones with a different interface but doing more or less the same thing that another app does. While Apple Inc (AAPL) takes a a very long time and thoroughly reviews apps before accepting them into the store, it does not check to see if the app has copied an existing one. That means duplicate apps are easy to come by and it isn’t fair to developers who make original apps.
Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) has finally decided to do something about this and has instigated the a process to dispute these apps. The process can be found here where it goes on to state;
