Facebook speeds up app

Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) has drastically hiked the speed of the iPhone and iPad iterations of its app by discarding the HTML5 version it used for once coded in Apple’s personal Objective-C code to enhance the mobile usage and possible, start making money from phone users.

Facebook’s Jonathan Dann stated that the plan indicates a change in how Facebook is defining mobile devices, with an aim at moving deep into individual platforms. The blog post signals that versions coded particularly for Android and other mobile platforms are in progress.

With Facebook’s shares having declined to almost half of their value since their IPO in May, Mark Zuckerberg’s firm is in hot water from investors and internally to start making money from the mobile side of the business.
