Google Inc. (GOOG)’s Android dominate the Smartphone market by high sales in the EU and U.S. mobile markets, even in the pre-iPhone 5 hype it managed to stand in the line of most liked device.
According to the latest smartphone sales figures from Kantar Worldpanel Comtech, Google Inc. (GOOG) owned Android has jumped by more than 20 percent in market sales share in the U.K., France, Italy, Germany and Spain increasing up to 67.1 percent in the five major EU economies.

Google’s Android double digit growth is in almost every region out of the eight major global economies in the past year excluding U.S shows where Android lost 4.5 percent share seemingly in favor of Apple’s iOS platform. Because Android still takes more than a 61 percent share in the eight key countries, up by 9 percent a year ago.
Interestingly, United States Android is seeing a market share decline as it grows significantly in other countries. The Android market share in the US shrinked by 4.5% in the face of Apple Inc. (AAPL)’s iOS increasing its market share almost 9% compared to the previous year.
Google owed Android’s dominance versus the iPhone’s edge skirting is evident but there will be more third level rivals that are joining the competitive Smartphone market in which Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s Windows Phone is making headway over.
More Surprisingly, Microsoft Corporation (MSFT) Window’s has managed to maintain its 5 percent share despite a rush of new Windows 8 products being announced.
But according to Kantar’s evaluation Android’s individual and collective share points Google’s mobile OS to be the strongest market share holder in all regions of the world.
Wider Screen Becoming Popular
Almost 29% of all Android devices sold in the last three months had a screen size over 4.5-inches which show the customers teds to buy wider screens. Overall Google’s Android devices now make up two-thirds of all smartphones sold in Europe. The increasing adoption of Android is visible by the numbers, which show that in Europe its market share was 20.2% in the last year.
Different other studies on U.S consumers behavior shows that the current trend of users are opting for larger 4-inch or greater screens.
