Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) is all set to go beyond Facebook in gaining money from display ads, ads with images or video, turning it into the leader in all three kinds of digital promotion i-e search, mobile and display.
That is the forecast of eMarketer, a research company that several companies in the tech industry depend on for its ad sales targets. In the start of this year, it reported that Facebook would stay on top, but in September sliced its estimations for Facebook’s sales from display ads.
Google (GOOG) would obtain 15.4 percent of display ad dollars in 2012, or $2.31 billion, higher almost 38.5 percent from 2011, as per reported by eMarketer. On the other hand its rival Facebook will obtain 14.4 percent, or $2.16 billion, higher 24.4 percent while Yahoo (YHOO) will earn 9.3 percent of display ad dollars, Microsoft (MSFT) 4.5 percent and AOL (AOL) 4.3 percent, according to data by eMarketer.
