Celebrity bodies we love and the diets they used to get them.

10. Jessica Albaimage

Jessica’s much coveted body is envied by women the world over and equally admired by the men! After shedding her pregnancy weight and returning to her svelte trim body before we could even say "diet", we all want to know how she did it.

“During her pregnancy, she was able to indulge,” says her personal trainer Ramona Braganza. Now, not only does she work out three times a week, she also eats a balanced diet and stays away from carbs in excess. Jessica starts off her day “with carbs – within reason,” says Ramona, who suggests oatmeal, turkey bacon and egg whites for breakie.

9. Gisele Bundchenimage

How can we not love her body? Even in pregnancy now, we're envious!

What's her secret? Cheeseburgers! That’s right; apparently, the Brazilian bombshell can pretty much eat whatever she likes, and gets away with it. “I’m pretty sick of hearing about the celebrity diet that consists of “steamed fish and vegetables”....”I like meat, real meat. It’s delicious.”

However, she does balance it all out by exercising. "I'm very athletic, so I guess because of that I get to eat what I want." The mothe-to-be still is a huge fan of Anusara yoga. Her instructor Amy Lombardo says, “She tries to do some yoga each day. She normally does an hour in the morning. It’s a great way to wake up your body and start the day on the right note. Yoga makes you really toned.”

8. Lilly Allenimage

Lilly Allen has amazed us all and is no longer the chubby, beer guzzling lass we remember bursting on to the music scene a couple of years back. Posing for the prestigious house of Chanel in their new bag campaign is ultimate proof of that.

She found her answer through hypnotherapy. “Everything is cool as long as I’m getting thinner. After hypnosis, I want to go to the gym every day. I just want to get tone and healthy.”

7. Gwyneth Paltrowimage

While she does have a body to die for, Gwyneth's penchant for healthy eating can come across as borderline obsessive, and perhaps even unrealistic unless you have the means to indulge. For years now, she has been known for her strict organic and macrobiotic diet. This means no processed or refined food, meat, fish, eggs or dairy. It's all 100 per cent natural.

The macrobiotic diet and philosophy were developed by a Japanese educator named George Ohsawa, who believed that simplicity was the key to optimal health.

Nutrition experts now acknowledge the Macrobiotic Diet as a sound program for total nutritional health. It more than satisfies the U.S. Recommended Daily Allowances (RDAs) for essential human nutrients.

6. Cheryl Coleimage

Cheryl was once quoted in VOGUE magazine as saying that she once burst into tears when she got onto the scales, and that in the past she has been deeply criticised for her waif-like figure when she lost weight rapidly.

Seems these body woes are a thing of the past now as Cheryl continues to wow us all with her amazing physique. Telling Heat magazine, “If I start the day eating protein, I'll try not to eat carbohydrates," she shares. "But I still believe you should pig out once a week. I usually do it on a Sunday because that's also my hangover day."

And let's also not forget the magic 'e' in all their lives - exercise, and lots of it.

5. Sienna Millerimage

Sienna Miller is an amazing clothes horse - from high end couture to high street looks and indie fashion, she's able to make everything she wears look edgy, sexy and cool.

Not a fan of exercise, the starlet says, “I don't really exercise, I'd rather be lumpy and heavy than skinny and miserable.” (Source: www.sienna-miller.org). But, forced to shed the pounds for her role as Edie Sedgwick in the film 'Factory Girl', she had to find an alternative for one of her biggest calorie vices - wine. "I decided to drink vodka instead of wine because it has fewer calories," she says.

4. Beyonce Knowlesimage

Beyonce famously shed 9.5kg in 2 weeks for her movie Dreamgirls by surviving on a concoction of maple syrup, lemon juice, water and cayenne pepper during that time!

Mrs Jay-Z obviously believes in the 'no pain, no gain' school of thought, but be warned, this method is not for everyone. It is potentially dangerous due to its extremely low calorie content and has come under a storm of criticism from health experts.

3. Elle Macphersonimage

Elle 'The Body' Macpherson may be 43, but she still has a figure most women half her age could only dream about.

According to James Duigan, Elle’s personal trainer, “Elle’s love of fish oil supplements helps keep her trim. They’re great for helping your body burn fat,” he says, “especially around your stomach and waist.”

In fact, a new study, from the Mayo clinic in Minnesota, USA, proves this theory, adding that the omega-3 fatty acid contained in these oils also helps suppress appetite.

2. Rihannaimage

We all know gruelling hours of concerts and endless time spent dancing will give you a killer body, but Rihanna has revealed in a recent interview that she has to work doubly hard to stay in shape. Saying that "carbs are the worse enemy", the singer, unlike others around her, can't avoid the food group, as she gets weak after going three days without them.

"If my trainer had her way, I’d eat small meals every three hours, but I sometimes only eat once or twice a day. I have egg whites and pineapple for breakfast with hot water and lemon. For lunch I have fish and potatoes. I hate vegetables but I make myself eat them. For dinner I have fish again," she tells Fabulous magazine.

1. Blake Livelyimage

It's one thing to hear that your favourite celeb has to sweat it out in the gym just like you and me to get her stunning body. But, when they say they do absolutely nothing, or worse, that it's just down to genetics (argh!), the world really doesn't seem fair, does it?

Blake Lively is one of those celebrities who'll have us tearing our hair out. Not only does the rising starlet confess to not working out, she's also said that she doesn't have the willpower to diet! "I have never worked out, but I know you feel better when you do, so I am planning on getting a trainer."
