On top of the all-new Terrain, GMC will debut a new addition to its hybrid product portfolio with the Yukon Denali hybrid at the New York auto show.
Mechanicals are shared with the hybrid versions of the Yukon and the Sierra that mate GM’s 6.0-liter Vortec V8 engine with 332 hp and 367 lb-ft of torque to a two-mode hybrid system. Regenerative braking, electric power steering and an electric air-condition compressor further improve fuel savings. GMC estimates city fuel economy of 21 mpg.
Being a Denali, expect the standard luxury fare such as new 22-inch chrome wheels, leather seating and 12-way power front seats that are heated and cooled.
The 2009 GMC Yukon Denali Hybrid goes on sale in May with a base price of $59,185 for two-wheel-drive models and $62,030 for four-wheel-drive versions.
