Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) reported on Thursday that it will start charging businesses to run Offers on its social network, turning a before free service into a possible revenue generator at a time while Wall Street is demanding novel sources of growth and profit from the firm.
Facebook released Facebook Offers previous this year, letting retailers and other local merchants send deals to their Facebook fans. Users declare the offers from their News Feeds and redeem the vouchers at stores to acquire discounts.
Director of product management for Facebook’s advertising and Pages businesses, Gokul Rajaram stated that they think this aligns incentives nicely. The best results on Facebook proposes will come from organic distribution plus paid distribution.
