Sir Jony Ive brings Apple top design team to D&AD London

Sir Jonathan Ive and the whole Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) design team comprising of 16-persons went on a glorious award ceremony, a historic appearance never seen before in any event. Apple team was awarded as the best brand, and best design studio of last half-century.

All 16 people of Apple Inc (AAPL)’s design team were present at the D&AD awards dinner at Evolution in Battersea Park in London on Tuesday, as per reported by the London Evening Standard. It was announced to be the first time in company’s history that its design team went on an award ceremony.

The group of 14 men and two women were on-hand to take one of the most high-status awards in the advertising industry. The pack of 16 members was lead by Ive, Apple Inc’s design chief, who refused to give any public remarks.

Design and Art Direction, D&AD

D&AD, or Design and Art Direction, is a British educational aid organization that supports quality in design and advertising. Its yearly awards are thought to be a chief event in the advertising and design world.

Tuesday’s dinner was an even larger deal than normal, as D&AD was commemorating its 50th anniversary by distinguishing some of the finest designers and advertisers of the past 50 years. Apple Inc (NASDAQ:AAPL) got the design award, while Collett Dickenson Pearce & Partners was ranked as the best advertising firm of the past 50 years.

Apple (AAPL) was the only firm at this week’s occasion to be awarded with two awards, as per reported by DigitalArts.

A public presence at this ceremony for Apple’s (AAPL) design team is something out of the blues, as Ive and his team are a particularly unheard of group from an infamously mysterious firm. A 2006 profile of Ive claimed that at the time he and his team operated in a huge, secretive open studio that several Apple workers were not permitted to enter.
