Twitter has launched a feature similar to Facebook Inc.’s (NASDAQ:FB) “Cover Photo” that lets members to post huge personal images to their profile page and also upgrade the apps for using Twitter on mobile units like iPhones and iPads along with Google’s (GOOG) Android OS phones.
Members can now post huge photos that would hang above their tweets on their profile page. Twitter named the feature as “Header Photo.”
But there is no innovation in this move. Facebook (FB) launched a similar app named as Cover Photo back when it launched its new Timeline profiles late last year. Since then, social networking giants have been walking on Facebook’s footsteps, counting Google+ and LinkedIn.
The main dissimilarity between Twitter’s Header Photo and Facebook’s Cover Photo is that Twitter would have a text above it in addition to an inset of the member’s main profile picture.
