Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ: FB), the social networking tycoon, generated almost $6 billion in its IPO in the start of 2012. And what would be the foremost step after filling their pockets, a latest building proposed by a renowned architect.
The social-networking firm (FB) reported on Friday that it’s growing its Menlo Park, Calif., site and that it employed Frank Gehry, the man behind the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles and numerous other famous structures, to develop a new building.
In a blog post revealing the proposed step, Facebook (FB) described the plan: It would be a huge, one room building that to some extent will be similar to a warehouse. Identical to what we do now, everyone would sit out in the open with desks that can be rapidly switched around as teams shape and cut up in projects.
Facebook further stated that the outside would fit in with the remaining campus and the surroundings and that the firm intends to plant trees on top of the upcoming building. The building would be linked to the present campus by an underground tunnel.
