On Monday, a Dutch court locked up a teenager for killing a 15-year-old girl and trying to kill her father after she supposedly posted disparaging comments regarding another girl on Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB).
The boy, identified as 15-year-old Jing Hua K, was locked up for a year and ruled to spend almost two years in a psychiatric facility to be treated for his troubles following the January 14 murder in the eastern Dutch city of Arnhem.
The court gave a ruling that the defendant intentionally killed Joyce Hau, known as Winsie to her friends, and also tried to murder her father, the judges stated in a ruling reported online.
Prosecutors informed the court the murder took place following Hau having a brawl on the social networking site with a 16-year-old friend named as Polly W. and her 17-year-old boyfriend Wesley C.
Prosecutors stated that Polly’s boyfriend, 17-year-old Wesley C. then apparently called and talked with Jing Hua K. through Facebook to plan the killing, and also purportedly detailed the likelihood of killing Hau’s whole family.
In the case, witnesses confirmed that Jing Hua K. was assured €150 ($188) or “a few drinks” if he kills Joyce successfully.
In their rulings, the judges also stated that the anxious teen suffered from a severe behavioral disease with psychopathic traits.
Jing Hua’s mother stated that her son had earlier presented other teens money if they would play with him, as per reported by the indictment.
